One of England's largest stately homes, Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire, seat of the Dukes of Marlborough, is the setting for this colourful performance by the 50-strong Band of the Grenadier Guards playing 26 popular marches by the 'March King', American composer John Philip Sousa. The programme includes many of this prolific writer's most popular pieces, played both outside the Palace and inside its magnificent library. The Band is conducted by Major P.E. Hills, FLCM psm, Director of Music of the Grenadier Guards. The programme also features Guardsmen of the 2nd Battalion marching in front of the Palace and through its beautiful parklands, and also footage of the Guardsmen at Caterham Barracks.
